There are necessities in life that many if not all people must have and one of those necessities being communication with others, which prevents people from becoming crazy or “losing it” as many others may put it. Communication in person or by letter is to share information with one another on a more meaningful and personal level, which is why it is important and should not be replaced by any other means of communication, whether it be through TV, emails/chat rooms, by phone, etc. With communication being so important in the daily lives of humans, people should realize that this so-called progression through technology might not be so advanced because in turn losing real communication may and can set back people because of the lack of connection made with others. Real communication between people is deteriorating due to technological advancements such as the TV, microchip enhanced communication; like the computer and Internet, and the common lingo used in today’s society. ... Thus showing the lack of communication where the amount of time spent on watching TV should be spent on talking with others. ... Hence, TV isn’t very good for communication, unlike speaking to others in person or writing a letter because only in this way can one truly express to others their opinions and show how they feel.
Continuing, the microchip enhanced communication like the computer and Internet are adding to the degeneration of people’s ability to communicate with others also as it has taken over “the art of letter writing” (Meikle, A3).
