DALLAS COWBOYS The Dallas Cowboys are the most successful in the history of the National Football League. The Cowboys have 27 winning seasons, made the playoffs 27 times, won 18 divisions championships, participated in eight of the Super bowls, winning five of them. In1960, the Dallas Cowboys became the NFL’s first successful modern expansion team. Clint Murchisos was Dallas’s majority owner, and his first order was to hire Tex Schramm as general manager, Tom Landry as head coach and Gil Brand as player personnel director. Dallas won its first two divisions in 1966 and 1985, but lost to the Green Bay Packers in the NFL championship game each year.
