Perhaps the easiest to detect, but yet the hardest epidemic to cure is obesity. Children are no longer losing their baby fat and instead they are just accumulating more. As the years progress, there are more and more children who are becoming obese. The percentage of children and adolescents who are defined as obese has more than doubled since the early 1970’s. One of the main causes of obesity is higher technology. Video games and television shows are distracting children from outside activities, which provide the adequate exercise that many need. While the children are watching television, they observe food ads after food ads. Chances are, the more food ads they see the hungrier they are going to become. This results in children consuming more and more snakes.
