Hip Hop can be summarized as a way of life that involves aspects such as style, language, and mentality. ... Since Americans are all exposed to the same media, blacks are not the only people who develop and live a hip hop way of life.
Hip hop can be considered a style because it involves a particular way of presenting yourself. For example, males like baggy pants and loose tops which could be considered to be hip hop. ... Brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Structure (Express 4 Men), and Banana Republic are not considered hip hop because these designrs produce garements that are fitted (not loose) and aren’t commonly worn amongst hip hop icons. ... Additionally, hip hop includes language and forms of communication. For example, greeting someone with a head nod or an informal handshake could be considered a style of hip hop.
