Shoppers: From Handfuls to Cart Loads It’s obvious that some of us enjoy shopping and some of us simply despise it. This has a lot to do with the way we carry items from the shelf to the checkout lane and the stops we make in between. If you observe the dynamics of any store, you can see that there are three main ways shoppers carry their items: in their hands, in a basket, and in a shopping cart. Taking a look at peoples actions in a store is a good indicator of what kind of person they are outside of the store. “Henry Handful” is probably the most hurried and high-strung shopper. He dreads going to the store just as much as most people dread going to the dentist. If a shopping list has more items than his mind can store, then it’s deemed to be too long! Henry would rather go to the store several times a week and just get one or two items each time. Upon entering the store, he dashes right past the carts and ignores the baskets.
