Maureen Flynn 11/17/03 Patient Care & Ethics Clinical Paper The first day of clinical we spent at the University of Massachusetts University Campus with our classmates going to that hospital and their coordinator. The whole day was comprised of orientation videos and lots of breaks in between. We saw videos on fire safety, OSHA regulations and radiation protection. After that we finally got to go to our clinical site at the Memorial Campus. Linda introduced us to everyone in the department, showed us all the rooms, gave us a tour of the hospital, and got our ID’s. It was a good day because we got all of the introductory information out of the way so we could start concentrating on our real clinical experiences. The first couple of days at clinical we spent completing our check-offs. I thought Linda made a great decision having us complete those first. We got a feel for all the rooms, took a computer class on IDXrad, learned about the darkroom, and learned how to transport patients safely so when it came time to help out we could.
