The Wife of Bath is a widow who has had five husbands in her lifetime. ... Her tale is obviously impacted by this because her tale is about a knight learning that what women want most is to control men. When he learns this, he is given a beautiful and faithful wife.
The same idea is portrayed in the Nuns Priests tale. After Chanticleer wakes up from his nightmare frightened, Pertelote, his favorite wife, uses her different methods to convince him that is was nothing. ... " (217) The Nuns Priest relates to this tale through the moral lesson though. ...
The Wife of Bath and the Nuns Priest have very different outlooks on the same issue. They both realize that women try to control their husbands, but the Wife of Bath believes thats a good thing while the Nuns Priest thinks it only leads to ill consequences.
