Death Of A Salesman

Death Of A Salesman Review The play Death Of A Salesman was written by Arthur Miller. I saw the movie based on the play in class on March 4, 9, and the 11th. The story takes place in New York during the early part of the century. There seems to be a dark atmosphere in the present but a more light presence in Willie’s flashbacks. Willie Loman is the main character who is old and is struggling to pay his bills because of being cut from his pay. Linda Loman is Willie’s wife who loves him even though Willie is having difficulties. Biff Loman is Willie’s eldest son whom Willie had great dreams of success. Happy Loman is Willie’s younger son who is regarded as a bum. Charley is Willie’s neighbor and his only true friend. Bernard is Charlie’s son who was Biff’s friend and is a successful lawyer. Ben is Willie’s brother who left home long ago and became rich, but then died.
