Why The South Is Worst Than The North In the South, individuals have to learn to stay to themselves not as a means of wanting to but as a means of surviving. Especially, as a black man or woman, you would barely want to make any friends because with the right amount of pressure even the black friends that you believe won’t turn on you will switch sides in a second and begin “ playing for the wrong team”. That’s what the South is known for and in that time it was thought that it would never change. The North on the other hand was known as the land of the free for blacks, a place where they would be able to escape if not all then most of the racism and segregation that was going on down in the South. If you wanted an opportunity to showcase a talent or skill the up north is where you needed to be.
