DNA testing Cloning commenting on Gregg Esterbrook Lewis Thomas
DNA testing is a relatively new form of scientific research performed today for purposes such as convicting criminals for their crimes. Although modern science has come a long way in helping solve many mysteries of life, there are many views of how DNA testing should be used. Gregg Easterbrook writes many different sides to DNA testing in his essay “The Myth of Fingerprints” while Lewis Thomas writes a negative view on another scientific breakthrough on cloning in “On Cloning a Human Being.” Both DNA testing and cloning are controversial matters that many people believe should be researched more. In “The myth of Fingerprints”, Gregg Easterbrook argues that DNA testing is a relatively good thing. ... Through DNA testing Easterbrook says, “DNA matches that of blood, sweat, semen, or similar bodily fluids found at the scene of unsolved crimes around the nation… quickly and cheaply liking suspects to past crimes” (633).
