Holocaust Memorial Speech This monument is dedicated to the millions of innocent victims of the Holocaust. It honors the people that suffered, and who still suffer the nightmare of the Holocaust, and died trying to stay alive through this hellish time. ... It represents the hope that fed the Holocaust victims and helped them to keep going through the horrible era, as well as having hope that hatred will not blind anyone in the future, but the hope that this world will not hate anymore. ... Inside the walls, a pavilion-like structure stands to show that everyone in the Holocaust, no matter what religion, skin color, or symbol they wore, they were all united and were going through the same suffering. The colored pillars each represent the seven different groups that suffered through the Holocaust; yellow; Jews, pink; homosexuals, green; Criminals, blue; Emigrant, brown; Gypsy, red; political prisoner violet; Jehovah’s Witness. ... There were many people who survived to Holocaust, but one person that stood out is Gerda Weissmann Klein. She shows us the hope and strength of many people, as well as the harsh reality of the Holocaust she went through in her novel, All But My Life. ... For all the victims of the Holocaust—the survivors, the suffering, and the dead—we dedicate this memorial of strength and hope to you.
