Poetry
The process of writing a poem that mimicked the other one was not as difficult as I had imagined. Writing down the original poem does help a lot. While you write it out you can think about what is trying to be said in that line. You wouldn't think that it would help but remarkebly, it does. Writing my poem was like making a casserole. You had all the instructions in front of you but you don't know exactly what you want to put in it. I just used the same format of the poem and put a spin on it. I never actually said anything about puddles in the poem but implied that it was what they were skipping through. The title Rain also gave some clues about the puddles. There were quite a few spots I struggled for what word to use and sometimes I couldn't come to anything I really wanted to put in there.
