A school is the most common place for a young person to hear about a local or even national crisis event. ... So a program like the School Crisis Response Initiative would allow the school a common strategy to handle the crisis. It is important that the crisis is handled right away and not let go for someone else to handle just because a school may not be sure how to handle it.
The idea that was presented in this article about a crisis program is an excellent idea and should be implicated in all schools. Most schools across the nation are not adequately trained to handle a crisis situation and so when it arises there can be a time of panic and chaos around a school. So with a program such as this one at least there would be an outline of what a school should do to make sure that the community and the school are able to coupe with the situation and are able to find the necessary help.
