Freedoms
In society today, we consider ourselves privy to a world of freedoms which if given to us, we should be allowed to use these without any restrictions solely because we are youths, and solely because we are not adult enough to make decisions. These freedoms include the right to democratically elect our political representatives, to marry whomever we wish and to travel freely in our country as we please, among numerous other allotted freedoms. The question at hand is what freedoms we have as adolescents in our homes, communities and schools. ... Personally, I believe that we have many supposed freedoms, yet little actual freedoms. ... There are freedoms that, as youth, we should be allowed to have without second thought. ... There are many limited freedoms such as this one. ... I believe that everyone is willing to give us minor freedoms, yet won’t give us the extended rights that come from the original freedom. ... If parents give teens limits such as these on their freedoms it is understandable why teenage rebellion occurs.
