Types of Ethics

Ethics has many forms and types to be studied. Among these are the types of utilitarianism and deontology. The main goal of this essay is to clearly define, identify, and contrast the two ethical ideas of utilitarianism and deontology. These two beliefs have been studied thoroughly throughout the years, however three people stand out with their opinions on these beliefs. This essay will use the ideas of Bentham, Mill, and Kant to fully explain utilitarianism and deontology. Utilitarianism can be most easily defined as "the greatest good for the greatest number." What this means is that an ideal situation would be more helpful to more people than to be negative to more people.
