Rosis Hands Over the City

In Hands Over the City, it is the city of Naples and the people that provide the setting for the film. ... In a similar way, the architectural use of the mise-en-scene, (the low angle shots, the diagonal compositions within the frame, the claustrophobic organisation of the interior shots) connotes the complex structures of power relationships in Italy and the controlling influence the ones in power actually have over the city. In the end of the film the titles run over the same shots of the city which tell us basically that while the story and the characters are fictitious, the reality that produces them is there and it’s real.
