Sylvia Plath’s “Daddy” is a confession of her true feelings concerning her deceased father. Her hatred for him is woven throughout this poem, which are easily translated by the reader. The author begin the work by expressing the fear she had of her father because of the way he treated her. Ultimately she tells of how she feels and relates to the wars in Germany, and how her father has effected her life even after his death. In the first part of the poem you see that Sylvia Plath is terrified of her Dad. You seem to catch the jist that she was been a victim to him for what part of her life they where together and has never been able to stand up and defend herself or even tell him how she feels. By the second portion we actually she how much she hated the man. That she was so disgusted by this man that she would have ended his life if only she had it in her. But in the end it was the smallest thing that accomplished what she wished she could do. After this our author describes how she felt after learning of her father’s illness, and how she prayed for his health to return.
