Legalization of Marijuana
The attitude of society towards the idea of legalizing marijuana has changed greatly. Yes, at the thought of the word, “marijuana”, the word, “illegal” come to mind, but making marijuana legal may help aid and to prevent certain illnesses and diseases, including some of the more deadly diseases such as cancer, AIDS, and glaucoma. ... Nausea, appetite loss, pain, and anxiety, all symptoms of “wasting syndrome” in AIDS patients, can be aided by the use of marijuana. In the medical world there are drugs that may be more effective, but they are non-consistent for all patients, unlike marijuana. ... Some major medical benefits marijuana is known for are: stopping the advancement of glaucoma; alleviate nausea and pain associated with cancer chemotherapy treatments; block epileptic seizures; helps emphysema patients breathe easier as marijuana is known as a dilator of the airways; can help with back spasms as marijuana is known as a muscle relaxant; help with skin diseases; and many others.
