Something is Rotten in the State of Denmark
In Act I of "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare Marcellus says, "Something is Rotten in the state of Denmakr." When hes saying this hes referring to the fact that the Ghost of the late King Hamlet has appeared a number of times and he believes that it is an omen of something bad thats about to happen. ... I also believe that the reason the the Ghost is there has something to do with that. ... Horatio goes on to explain that Denmark is preparing itself for wat with Norway because they are afraid that young Fortinbras, the Prince of Norway, is going to attack them to try to take back the land that his father lost to King Hamlet.
