A tale of teror

A Tale of Terror In “Godfather Death, “Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm tell the story of a poor man who had twelve children: on his thirteenth child the man decide that he would run onto the main highway intending to ask the first person he meets to be the child’s godfather. Godfather death is a tale of terror that communicates a truth about the disaster that disobedience precipitates. The tone of the story is very solemn and cold. When the man son was born, he was determined to fine the best godfather for his child. The man simply refuses to settle for the first person he meets, to be his child’s godfather. After interviewing several candidates, the man chooses Death to be his son godfather. Who in their right mind would chose such a name like Death to be a child godson? Death promises the man that his godson will be rich and famous, he stated, “Whoever has me as a friend shall lack for nothing” (9). In other words, being a friend of mines, you will have everything that I have and more. This is one situation that creates the tone of the story. In the poor man mine, I wonder why he felt that Death was the best candidate for his child. While reading the story I try very hard to get a vivid image of having someone call Death as my godfather.
