Not only have most people engaged in some form of ethnocentrism, but also most people have been victims of ethnocentrism, which can result in animosity between these members of different cultures. A person who is a target of ethnocentrism may feel many different feelings. ... It may be the case that if every person knows what it is like to be a victim of ethnocentrism, that people would not openly express their feelings about personal views of other cultures. ... Because most of these thoughts occur subconsciously, it is often very difficult to recall a specific act of ethnocentrism by oneself. Perhaps this may be because ethnocentrism is not necessarily a good thing, and people do not like to admit when they have engaged in thoughts, which are not looked positively on.
