In this paper I want to discuss and explain the good and the bad points of children
in competitive sports. ... The
first issue that I would like to address is at what age should children be involved in
competitive sports? Secondly how do you know when your child is ready for competitive
sports? Are competitive sports beneficial to children and why do they decide to play and
not play? ... Basically with this paper I want to look at just about every
aspect of competitive youth sports and look at the direction it’s at and where it is going.
Many people have mixed opinions at what age children should interact in competitive
sports. ... But the major consensus I found was that generally
around the age of eight children are usually ready for competitive sports. ... Because at age eight children are usually ready to interact in sports
and are at the point where they understand the rules and know how to play.
