It also presents to the reader how Muslims feel about certain aspects of their life, how they worship, and how Muslims who live in the West practice their religion. ... Despite its few grammatical errors, I would recommend it to any non-Muslim looking for some information and/or answers to any misconceptions that they may have about the religion of Islam. ... Islam and its beliefs and traditions have been her source of inspiration and the object of her studies for the past three decades. ... “It did not take long for Islam to become my own, totally fulfilling personal way of life” she says. ... I was very pleased with the way in which the author handled this introductory section, because she addresses the main purpose behind the creation of this book; to eliminate any misconceptions about the religion that the Western world may hold. She is bold and honest when she talks about the western “experts” on Islam, who “consider themselves far more knowledgeable about it then the Muslims who are living it day by day, but who seldom if ever take the trouble to understand Islam…” (Haneef vii). To most effectively channel her ideas directly to the reader, Haneef asks the reader to “try his best to clear his mind of any preconceptions he may have about Islam, whether these have been gathered from the news, movies or television programs, from newspaper or magazine articles…” (Haneef viii).
