TRANSFORMATION
In the novella “The Transformation” a young man named Gregor Samsa is transformed into a monstrous insect. Due to his transformation he loses his job, family, and ultimately his life. By extension, the family too, experiences a transformation. Primarily, Gregors transformation is an act of rebellion against the materialistic world After his father lost his job, Gregor was the one to take full financial responsibility for the family. ... Gregor’s father gets so angry with his transformation into an insect he “deals him a mighty blow from behind that came as a veritable deliverable, and he flew deep into the room bleeding profusely” (91). ... Although, After Gregors transformation the family ignores him and locks him in the room without food, they all handle the financial situation well. ... Gregor’s transformation also caused a lot of concerned when the maid asked to be “discharged” (96) .
