So, she did marry a man who was content in his life and not very adventurous, in Hedda eye’s he was safe. ... The thought about having an affair has entered her mind more than once, but Hedda is afraid of one thing, scandal. ... As in Hedda’s case, it happens to be courage and a life that she can no longer have. ... In the play, Hedda was born in an aristocratic household and did things most people only dreamed of. ... All of this because Hedda is afraid and she doesn’t have the courage to change her life. ... Hedda does wants a triangle between her husband and Judge Brack but she doesn’t want the scandal that could go along with it. ... But like Hedda, I’m afraid of the scandal and afraid of the outcome not being in my favor. ... Hedda can’t change the past and she can only shape the future to a certain extent. ... There is one difference between my situation and the one Hedda Gabler found herself in. ... Isben develops Hedda’s character as one who is being lead to do the most desperate thing she can, kill herself.
