Many people say that music downloaded off the internet is no big deal, but it is. Music piracy is wrong, morally and legally. Downloading is unacceptable by many standards, yet many people keep clicking away. Downloading music off the internet affects musicians and the music they create. Copyrighted music downloaded off the internet is illegal. Piracy is the greatest threat facing the music industry today. Every file being downloaded affects those who created the music. Peer to peer music sharing programs have more users signing on than ever before. This results in unauthorized downloading of music which can lead to the creation of a pirated CD. When music is being burnt to CD, sales drop which affects artists’ music and lifestyles.
