Harry Potter is the main character in a popular set of books written by a Ms. J.K. Rowling. The books are popular with all age groups. The recently released Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix is the only book to sell almost as many copies as the Bible. Ever since it’s debut parents have been protesting it throwing around terms like “Wicca”, “santanistic”, and “cult-like”. These ‘enraged mothers’ don’t know the first thing about what they are protesting. Most protesters of the books haven’t even read one page. They get their backing from newspaper articles and online internet forums where people preach how Harry Potter is teaching their precious little children the ways of wiccan covens and how to worship Satan. To begin with, Wicca is a religion, not a cult. They are not connected with Satan or Harry Potter. Also, if you are going to go around name-calling you may want to know what you are talking about. The charges of Rowling’s books being cult-like shouldn’t have even come up considering things like Star Wars and Star Trek have been around for longer and there are people so obsessed with it that they virtually live in their little “star” worlds.
