KaBoOm! A bomb just exploded in the front entrance of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, downtown Oklahoma City. One hundred sixty-eight are dead, five hundred three are injured. Helpless victims are screaming while scavenging for loved ones and trying to survive. The purpose of this report is to describe and analyze the second largest terrorist attack in the United States; The Oklahoma City Bombing. April 19, 1995. 9:00 am - a Ryder truck parked near the front entrance of the Murrah Federal Building, just below the day care center. It was a 20ft yellow rental with black lettering. April 19, 1995. 9:02:13 am – the explosion! A bomb made of fuel oil and fertilizer just went off! Shattering one hundred 36” by 54’ windows! Ceilings collapsing! 320 structures in the area damaged! Cars flattened! One hundred sixty-eight people are dead, five hundred three are injured. “Stories like these were multiplied hundreds of times about people who, by the luck or fate or act of Schulze 2 God, survived while others didn’t. Husbands and wives perished, as did parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles. There were more than two dozen sons and daughters who lost both parents, more than two hundred who lost one. A man called the Justice Department and said that he was standing across the street watching the building blow up. The time in the Justice Department was 9:32am, which made the time in Oklahoma, 8:32am.
