The video that we watched was very interesting and informative. I learned a lot about the communication between men and women and why they act the way they do. A lot of what she said was true, but it was not law because I found that some of the things I say and how I say them are relative to either the men or the women’s side. I believe it is like this because you are going to be influenced by those you spend most of your time with. The first topic I found to be interesting was that of Ritual Opposition. Mrs. Tanning defines it as being an agonism or using war where it is not needed. What she was trying to say is that men are prone to teasing and play fighting to show there affection, not only to their males friends, but to their female friends as well. Women tend to take what was said literally and over interpretat it because they are prone to showing affection by having a private conversation. Sunday afternoon, I was having a conversing with a male friend of mine over the phone when he began teasing me. What he said to me I thought to be rude and inconsiderate so I responded negatively and hung up the phone.
