The Day That Changed Everything
News. News. News. Every channel has the news on. I hate mornings. There’s never anything good on TV getting ready for work can be a real drag sometimes. As I’m warming up my car I start flipping through the radio stations, in search of decent music. All I hear is talk shows. Every station is talking. I spot a good CD lying on the passenger seat. I As I approach the building at work I notice a lot of excitement going on in the cafeteria. I see a friend and jokingly ask if the Martians had landed. She gives me this crazy look and replies “Haven’t you been watching the news?” I never watch the news. So I go into the cafeteria and join the crowd by gluing my eyes to the television. As the images appear on the screen, I begin to realize what had just taken place. I looked at my friend and asked if it was real. I couldn’t believe it. How could anyone posses enough anger and hatred too not only commit suicide, but to murder thousands of innocent people? This is a question that still lingers in my thoughts, and I don’t believe there is a sane answer. When I was Eighteen and heard the number nine one one or nine eleven, the first thought that came to my head was emergency.
