What management functions and roles is Herb Kelleher performing that make him such a successful manager? Of course he is running airflight based on low-price fares between a limited number of southwestern cities. So by organizing and leading his employees in an innovative way he is able to perform well. These two functions I think are the most important one because without them the Airline couldn’t keep on going. Manager can improve organizationl effictiveness by raising a person’s self-esteem or beliefs about his or her abilty to accomplish certain task, bulding a fair reward system and changing the design of a person’s job or the rules and procedures for doing the job to reduce cost, make the task more enjoyable, or make the task easier to perform.
