O’Brien Title:Z for Zachariah In this time Ann’s father, mother, brother Joseph, her cousin David and the store owners Mr. and Mrs. Klein go to other towns out of their valley to find people who are still alive. But they never came back. In this time Ann does everything of farmwork. But one a strange man appears with a gasmask, a plastic suit and a geiger counter in the valley. Ann observes that man out of her cave where she has lived since Mr. Loomis came into the valley. In this time he swims in the poisoned creek of the valley and becomes ill. And Faro, David’s dog, who ran away came back. After a time Ann goes to the house and finds him very ill beause of the high radiation in the creek. In his dreams he tells where he comes from and what he does. He although tells that he has killed a man called Edward, because they had a fight about the plastic suit, which is radiation proof.
