AOL VS. FREESERVE America Online internet service was founded in 1985 by Steve Case. And when he found AOL he wanted to create an internet service with more features and options for one low price, where every single subscriber could afford it. That’s where AOL was charging $30.00 for monthly membership fees. The problem with AOL started to appear when AOL tried to enter the European market after serving the US for almost 10 years. They approach entry to the European market by joining the world’s third largest media company. Thereafter, by the fall of 1998 AOL held up the British market, and with around 800,000 subscribers, AOL was the leading ISP provider in Europe. One problem faced AOL in Europe, which was the time that the users were spending online.
