Pregidism on Sex
Men and women have similarities and differences throughout their age groups. Starting in grade school girls and boys naturally group to their own gender. For instance, studies demonstrate that without direction, girls naturally group together at recess around the hopscotch and jump rope equipment, and the boys tend to go out into the play area field. However, both sexes equally enjoy the playground equipment. The studies mention the norm or tendencies, but the reality is some girls prefer the fast running in the field with boys and everyone knows the chemical changes that change behaviors at adolescence. Our Nation has both Federal and State laws that prohibit the sexual biases in schools. However, the details of these are not governed in law language and sometimes school team sports exhibit sexism collision. Many of the teams are “guys only” and if women tried joining these teams, their peers would ridicule them. I have a girlfriend that for the longest time wanted to be on the wrestling team at school. As a child she liked wrestling and as she got older the interest in wrestling stayed with her. She had four brothers that all wrestled and no sisters. To her this was natural and acceptable behavior. When she tried to join the wrestling team her freshman year she was ridiculed severely by her classmates and the coach would not let her join. It started out when she showed up for tryouts. Immediately the coach asked her if he could help her find someone. When she explained that she was in the right place and intended to tryout for wrestling, the coach was clearly taken aback.
