College Campuses Going Wet
Introduction Statement of Problem It is a proven fact that when students first start college many also begin to drink. Underage drinking has been a problem on college campuses throughout the nation for years. ... Objective This proposal examines the problem of irresponsible underage drinking on college campuses. ... If this problem is dealt with as soon as possible, the reputation of our college can be saved. ... Body Objectives and Methods Irresponsible underage drinking can be reduced or even solved by having a wet campus and having a private sports bar on campus. ... Changing the campus from dry to wet will prove to the students and to the state that Tech is aware of the problem and is trying to help solve the problem of underage drinking. The college would also have to have contractors come and do estimates for the contracting of the bar. ... The college would have to educate the entire campus about alcohol awareness and they would have to keep the faculty updated with new and recent information. ... The entire campus would have to be willing to try out the bar and would also have to be willing to help enforce the new rules that would come along with a wet campus. There would have to be a committee made up of school faculty and students to keep track of how the wet campus is functioning. ... Questions on the survey included; how going wet would affect the school, what the students thought about the idea, and what problems/gains that going wet would produce. Most of the students thought that it would be kind of hard to get used to at first, but after a couple of years people would be used to a wet campus and that it would work. A lot of the students thought that the campus going wet would help underage students learn how to drink more responsibly, and that drinking and driving would go down.
