Thought paper on Capitol Punishment
When asking myself the question… Is the death penalty ever justified? I think it probably isn’t and on top of that, I would rather get the chair then spend my life in jail. But frankly, capitol punishment isn’t just “The Ultimate Punishment” anymore; it’s a way of cutting the population in prisons. That has a big influence on the debate to whether it is justified or not, some important figures don’t care. Some of these important figures look at it is population control only. The appeal system is hardly effective. Few people ever really get anything out of it, or even a hearing. And that leaves us with the question or should the death penalty be exercised beyond a reasonable doubt or beyond all doubt. Well I don’t think you could ever really be sure in every single case.
