The use of email, not to mention the laziness of people today, has caused a decline in letter writing and this decline will effect people’s writing skills and could even create a decline in postal work. Besides the telephone, the use of email has caused a major decline in the writing of formal letters. Instead of sitting down and writing a letter, most people now get on their computer and write the letter and then send it to the person they want to get ahold of. Most people can type a lot faster than they can write, so they just plop down in their chair and fly through the letter in less then ten minutes when it normally would have taken them over twenty minutes to write it by hand. In our world today, people like the easy way out and writing a letter by hand is not that way out.
