Propaganda

Popular culture, especially television, has a powerful effect on society creating the mindset of irresponsible sex. The use of sex in advertising has become a major selling method in the society we live in. Tobacco and alcohol companies have been known for the most advertisements containing sex in history. The public tends to think that the cigarette or alcoholic beverage with the most romance involved is the best. Approximately every television channel you flip to has something influencing sexuality in a different way. There are way too many half naked bodies and too much sexual content in the advertisements of today. It nearly always seems that every product today has at least one advertisement that is related to sex in one way or another. For example, celebrities are always wearing what they think is “sexy clothing,” showing off all parts of their body and making new fashion statements to whoever is watching. Of course, a majority of the audience, mainly the teenagers, is going to think it is attractive and try to imitate the celebrities thinking it will make them even more popular and good looking.
