Cause Essay

What Causes Laziness? What causes the citizens of America to become lazy? Is it the convenience of fast or microwavable food? Or the amount of entertainment options available to the consumer? America is a nation where anything and everything you need is at the touch of a button. Over the past fifty years America has become an extremely lazy nation. Has the laziness just become a way of life for Americans? For most yes, even though we may not realize it. The convenience of fast food may be a contributing factor. It is so easy to just run through a drive-thru. The only mess to clean up is just to throw a few wrappers and a paper bag away. It’s easy and fast. But in one Big Mac there are 600 calories and 33 grams of fat. This is just based on a 2,000 calorie diet. Not only is this just in a Big Mac but there is also the fries and soda to figure into a person’s diet. This is just one meal in a person’s day. There are more obese people in America than there has ever been. This can be partly blamed on the convenience of fast food but also partly to people being lazy. Microwavable food may be another cause of laziness for people. It is so easy to go to a grocery store and do all of a person’s shopping in the frozen food section. The microwavable dinners look healthy, and some of them actually are, but for the most part they are filled with nutrients that most of the people in America don’t need. When people come home from work during the week they are tired and don’t want to have to do the second shift responsibilities of preparing a dinner for themselves or their entire family, and then cleaning up after it.
