Gun Show has a positive effect on Maple Plains

Ending the Maple Plains gun show will not keep guns out of the hands of criminals; it will only end all the great programs that have benefited our community. There was a recent incident in our community that has everyone in an uproar. When Edward “Bud” Bowden was shot and paralyzed with a gun purchased at our very own gun sale, the gun show became a very controversial topic in Maple Plains. This is the first incident in that has ever come out of our town’s gun sale. ... The benefits from the funding of the gun sale far outweigh any negative outcomes. The Maple Plains’ police department and community take great pride in hosting a reliable gun show. The annual Firearms Show and Sale is governed by all state and federal laws, and they also perform background checks on all gun-buyers. The unsold guns are traded into a gun manufacturer who agrees to only sell the guns overseas. Most guns sold at the show are sold to community members. ... Most guns that are used to commit crimes are done with illegally purchased firearms because the gun show takes great pride in performing background checks on all buyers.
