This video focuses on the wars between the United States and Mexico in the 1800s. The controversy was mainly over the fact that Mexico and U.S. wanted to claim the same territories. There was no exact border of what exactly makes the southern U.S., so the land between U.S. and Mexico was very up-in-the-air. The United States had let some immigrants over to their lands so they could have cheap field workers. When too many crossed the border, the U.S. put a limit on how many Mexicans could come over, which upset Mexico very much. Mexico’s President, Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana was general in charge and led the Mexicans to fight the Americans. The biggest quarrel was in Rio Grande, where both troupes met and there was a mass bloodshed. The Americans won every battle with Mexico due to their skills. Mexico’s troupe was larger, but they didn’t grasp the skills and experience that the Americans had. The end of the movie talked mainly about the Los Ninos of Chapultepec Castle and how the Americans fight a battle their, claiming the territory. I think it was brave of the Mexicans to go to war with the U.S., considering they knew they lacked skills and didn’t have that great of a chance of winning. This video exemplified the beginnings of the Revolutionary war.
