Letter to Editor: Don't ban Huckleberry Finn
Dear people who want to ban this book from school curriculum: I have recently heard that the district wants to make The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn no longer a part of school curriculum in the 11th grade here at Ferris High School. I am outraged by this fact. The reason I am outraged is because this book isn’t being banned from Ferris because it doesn’t have educational value or because it just plain isn’t a good book. It’s being banned for one reason, political correctness. I am not a particular fan of this book, but I’m even less a fan of political correctness. It makes me angry because it hides the world from the truths of society.
