Karma is a Sanskrit word, and literally it means "action". ... The idea of Karma had existed in ancient Indian philosophy before the time of Siddhartha Gautama. This essay will first discuss the meanings of Karma, and its philosophical significance in Indian thought.

First of all, according to Monima Chadha, the term of Karma has five different meanings. The very first one is, Karma is understood as any form of act, like mental and physical act. ...
