Jon Stallworthy’s poem “Toulouse-Lautrec at the Moulin Rouge” incorporates the brilliant painter into the poem and by use of alliteration, free verse arrangement, verb selection, punctuation and word placement; the author paints his own scene with words. When evaluating the relationship between these two works of art, each exhibit a paradoxical interpretation, of the legendary Moulin Rouge.
