Immigration Policy Jorge Gonzales, from Mexico, is in search of a better life. Like most illegal immigrants that get across the border, Jorge sneaks his way in. Jorge does what he must to survive and possibly send money home to his family. It’s people like Jorge who are hurting the American way of life. Although Jorge is a fictional character, illegal immigrants cost citizens millions of dollars in the long run. The national immigration policy must be revised. Immigration continues to put the United States in a financial hardship. Since immigrants have such a low educational level, they end up earning a much lower wage compared to natives.
