Animal Testing for Biomedical Research
Annually, millions of innocent animals suffer and die from cruel cosmetic testing. ... But, when the testing on animals is required for biomedical research, to test specific medications, it is necessary to have some type of test subject, without taking the life of a human being. Animal testing in laboratories for medical and scientific research is despised amongst the animal activists, who compare it to the cosmetic testing that labs perform. This is not the same testing, however. ... From cancer to genetic mutation research, scientists work endlessly on trying to uncover the mysteries of the body, and how each of these problems or diseases can be prevented. This lecture really opened my eyes to how much animal testing is actually conducted in order to discover new problems with the human body, and how medical research can fix it.
