In “The Child by Tiger,” the match between Dick and the townsmen is a physical fight, but much of the story has nothing to do with the confrontation, leaving you wondering why the fight happened in the first place. In “The Most Dangerous Game,” however, the story revolves around the battle which is a mental test for Rainsford, and without it the story is meaningless.
