At first, Adams dislikes the idea, but practicality settles in and he agrees to use Lee, from Virginia to propose the idea to Congress. ... Franklin’s practicality recognizes that if this line is not removed, they might never get independence. Lastly, one of Franklin’s most practical endeavors in 1776 is at the end, when the final vote for independence is occurring. ... This event alone shows Franklin’s great intellect and practicality. ... Along with proving his practicality, this decision also shows Jefferson’s intelligence and fine education.
Of course, not all signs of practicality were shown in this brief essay. There are numerous other characters in the movie that showed their own practicality who were not mentioned because of their significance. However, from these three main characters, we see the amount of practicality that all men in the seventeen hundreds possessed. It is without this practicality, that these three, and all men in the Congress posed, the great document that insures our freedom today, might never have been approved.
