Berman describes the establishment and institutionally of Al Qaeda as “solid, with a world wide network of clandestine resources.” Al Qaeda is an organization with many ties, which extend all over the world and not only in the Arabic states of the Middle East and Afghanistan. ... According to Berman, Qutb’s “hatred and fear” was shaped most likely by his trip to America in the late 1940’s. After his return to Eygpt in the late 1950’s Qutb began to view society and its dysfunctions with an even more radical sense. Although the Islamists and Pan-Arabists of that time could be compared “with the Italian Fascists of Mussolini’s time”, Qutb wanted to resurrect the caliphate theology, and strictly enforce shariah, “the legal code of the Koran”. In Qutb’s book, “In the Shade of the Qur’ran”, he interprets, remarks and recounts the stories of the Koran.
