interview of classmate

The classmate I interviewed with was Frank. It was a very good chance for me to talk with Frank because I have learned a lot from the story of his family. It is a little complicate to say where FrankĄ¯s origin is because his family had an international background. Originally, FrankĄ¯s family was from china. His father lived in Cambodia as well as his mother lived in Vietnam before immigrating to the U.S. Therefore, Frank is not willing to say where he is originally from, and he doesnĄ¯t consider China, Cambodia or Vietnam as his hometown, but the America since he was born in America. But to FrankĄ¯s parents, they consider they were originally from China. Frank is a second generation of immigrant, so that he doesnĄ¯t know anything about the economic and social position within China and he has no interest to know it. Like most of the second and third generation of Chinese immigrants, they donĄ¯t like to accept their parentsĄ¯ original culture and prefer not to know it. In the other word, they are becoming complete Americans as they raise and get education in America. From the stories of FrankĄ¯s parents, they reveal the similar lives of a lot of immigrants. FrankĄ¯s father came to America as a refugee in 1960Ą¯s because the Communist power began to take control of the whole Cambodia.
